Congratulations to the Horlick High School Instrumental Program on their outstanding performances in Orlando, Fla at the WorldStrides Heritage Festival. The Symphonic Band and Jazz Band both won Silver and the Orchestra took home the Gold!
In addition, the Orchestra received an Adjudicators Award, which is the most difficult award to receive. This is given to groups that earn a combined rating from all three judges of 92 or higher. The Orchestra also received the Outstanding Orchestra Award, which was given to the Orchestra with the highest score. Along with this, the Orchestra was invited to the Worldstrides Festival of Gold.
As an entire instrumental music program, Horlick won the Instrumental Sweepstakes Award. This was given to a school that brought at least 2 instrumental groups and received the closest combined score to 200.
Finally, two of Horlicks’s seniors, Shannon Campion (violin) and Rebecca Arnold (cello) earned Maestro Awards. These awards are given to students that the judge’s felt performed outstanding solos. Only 4 of these awards were given at the entire festival of nearly 2,000 students.
Congratulations to all Horlick High School instrumental music program students!
