The Village of Caledonia is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as a Utility District Operator Apprentice or a Utility District Operator.
The Utility District Operator Apprentice’s or Utility District Operator’s job function is to assist in the day to day operations and activities of the Caledonia Utility District to include performing any combination of jobs which are assigned and pertinent to the operation and maintenance of the wastewater collection system and water distribution system.
For both positions: Minimum required education is a high school diploma or equivalent. Must possess mechanical aptitude and excellent communication skills. Must reside within a 15 mile radius of the Utility District Building located at 333 4 ½ Mile Road and available for 24-hour emergency response including nights, weekends and holidays.
For the Operator Apprentice: Possess and maintain a valid Class D Driver’s License. Obtain a Class B CDL with tanker endorsement and all other subsequent certifications within 12 months of hire date required.
For the Operator: 3 years related experience and possess and maintain a valid Class B CDL with tanker endorsement and possess all other subsequent certifications.
Starting hourly rate is $17.85 to $28.90 depending on experience and qualifications with full benefit package.
